Max and Lucy sprung from their cozy sleeping bags bright and early Easter morning to hunt for the hidden eggs. The Easter Bunny carefully hid two eggs in each hiding spot as to not cause turbulent times in the Andes' household on this special morning. His meticulous hiding job allowed two very tired parents a few hours of extra sleep. (Next year, we will be leaving the Easter Bunny extra carrots as a thank you.)
After two hours of quietly playing, the hunt for the hidden baskets begun. It wasn't long before Max and Lucy found their treasure chests. Max's was filled with Mario Bros. goodies while his sister enjoyed a basket full of goodies fit for a Princess.
Master Charlie did not grasp that Easter morning equated to candy so he snoozed away until 10 AM. When he did awake, he found that the Easter Bunny remembered the littlest member of our house and filled his basket with goodies for his tummy and his summer playtime. (Albeit a generic basket his mother dug out from storage at the last minute because he is the third child and sometimes these details slip her mind...but I digress.)
Just to ensure that his basket was up to snuff, Master Charlie's big sister tried on his hat for good measure.
Each basket also contained special bunny ears. Master Charlie realized that it is moments like these that make him want to sleep until 10 AM to avoid the photo ops.
Not to be outdone but her little brother, Lucy donned her ears and smiled big. Never miss a photo opportunity is this one's motto.
After baskets were properly gone through and toys tried out, it was time for egg dying. Always a traditionalist, Lucy kept with her tried and true method of dunking each egg in every color.
As is the standing order of every family holiday, the day closed with a family photo session.
