Passing the time...

Well, it took Max exactly two hours to heal from his hernia surgery. Not two days. Not two weeks. Two hours. 120 minutes. We are now crowning him a superhero that will go by the name of "Incredible Healing Boy." He is just unbelievable..by 3 PM the day of surgery, he was getting in trouble for jumping off of couches. Since we are under strict instructions to keep the jumping, running and general 5 year old behavior to a minimum, his incredible healing properties are posing quite the issue.

To pass the time, we headed to the Lehigh Valley Zoo yesterday. We borrowed a double stroller from a neighbor hoping it would confine our two monkeys. We thought wrong. Very wrong. Max straddled the sit-and-stand part of the stroller for half the trip and then squatted the remainder. Neither of which are on the "permitted" list. Given the fact he wasn't jumping off of the couch, we let his activities slide. As with every zoo trip we have taken, Lucy spent her time trying to climb into various cages.

Lucy's roaming came to a sudden, brief halt when she encountered a peacock in her space. While running around the otter exhibit, Lucy turned to tell us something and saw the peacock. At this point, her tough exterior froze and she pointed and screamed. After we told her that the peacock was just saying "hi", she waved and greeted Mr. Peacock.

Max and Lucy have taken to putting their heads together...literally. This is how we find them for about half of each car ride...until one pulls the other's hair or one scratches the other's face. I will let you determine who the instigator is 99.99% of the time.

They looked like they are conjoined in the last picture!
Glad Max is feeling better - hope he doesn't cause any damage!
