Monkey One and Monkey Two

Patti is away this week, so today's blog post is being brought to you by Big Daddy ...

As we've seen whenever Max and cousin Rudy get together, there is a constant game of "Monkey See, Monkey Do" going on. Well, Lucy is now at the age where she is starting to mimic Max when he is doing certain things, too. Max doesn't always appreciate the 'shadow', but she's here to stay, so he'll have to get used to her soon. (Either that or learn how to ignore her!)

The Monkey label for Max and Lucy doesn't just refer to the way they always do the same thing, it also applies to how they climb on anything that will hold their weight ... sofas, beds, the kitchen table, each other. Well, we decided to use some of the gift cards we got for Lucy's birthday on a climber for our little primates.

As you can see here, Max got the hang of it right away and enjoyed climbing, sliding and jumping off of the unit.

Lucy on the other hand, didn't quite understand what she was supposed to do with it. It's hard enough climbing up a slide, but try doing it when you are, well, let's just say she's not "light on her feet".

Eventually, they both decided that the only thing more fun than playing on the new jungle gym is .... playing in the box that it came in.
