A Holly Jolly Day

After an anxiety-filled December, Christmas has finally arrived...and left...without any major Santa issues. Success. Max is downright petrified of the big guy...last year he asked that Santa leave all of his presents on the doorstep so he would not enter our house. This year, Max asked that Daddy meet Santa on the sidewalk and kindly take the presents from him. Christmas Eve was a bit iffy in our house...Max had been acting very quiet and anxious all day...he was fumbling over his words and couldn't concentrate on anything. Finally, he admitted to us that he was very upset about Santa coming. We were seconds away from revealing the big secret about St. Nick, but we feared that Max would ruin the magic for other youngsters with no fear of the big guy. Max had himself so worked up that he was snoring by 7:25 last night. Goose hasn't been feeling well, so she was sound asleep by 6:45 last night. Perfect night for early bedtimes, as we had a car to assemble!

Christmas morning, Max was bright-eyed and bushy-tailed at 6:10...he did wait until 7 to wake up Goose and see what Santa had exchanged with Daddy on the sidewalk. I think the exchange went well, as Max and Goose played with their toys all day long.

Lucy checking out her loot from the big guy...Santa brought Lucy a foot-pedaled car...she rode in all day...I am pretty sure she would have slept in it tonight if we let her!


Max with some presents...you can see the prized bed for Puppy in the background...you can rest assured that Max will most likely be toting Puppy around in this crate next time you see us...
Lucy did get bored after some present-opening and this is what she came out wearing after a short stray from the family room...

The Hawk brought Max an SJU hat...Lucy apparently wanted a hat also...

This evening, Lucy decided to pack her new school bag and lunch bag and take off...I guess she didn't like our rules...

We also attempted some family pictures...you can see why I use the word "attempted"...

As you see, the kids stayed in their jammies all day...exactly the way Christmas was meant to be spent! I will end this post for now, Max is excited to play yet another game of his new board game...Clue, Jr. He already beat Mommy, Daddy and PopPop...several times today.
