'Tis the Season...

...for summer carnivals and fairs. Ever since Max was a year old, we have been making the rounds of church and community carnivals in our area. Max loves the rides and it is nice to walk around somewhere different on a warm summer night. Tonight we went to our first fair of the season. This one was a small church fair with no rides, but there were some moonbounces so Max was happy.

I still am a little suprised each time Max jumps into a moonbounce without hesitation. A few years ago, he would run away from them screaming. I can remember several instances of me crawling into one to fish him out. Hopefully if Lucy has the same fear, Max will be able to rescue her!
There were quite a few carnival games geared towards the younger crowd...Max picked a basketball shoot-out as his game of choice. This is him with his prize...good thing he won because we definitely do not have enough balls and other sports equipment in our house. (Note the sarcasm...the Olympics could use our house as a practice facility with the amount of sports equipment we have.)

Lucy has been feeling a little under the weather the past few days so she wasn't really into picture-taking tonight. Although, she did feel well enough to try a soft pretzel for the first time. She liked it...of course...I have yet to find a food that she turns her nose up at...

Uh oh it's bad when they start giving you the hand instead of a smile.
